Dear athletes and coaches,
I hope this finds you well! My name is Jess Luscinski and I am the NCAA and Collegiate Triathlon Coordinator for USA Triathlon. With the passing of Women’s Triathlon as an Emerging Sport for Women by the NCAA in January of 2014, and on behalf of USA Triathlon, I am excited to announce two unique race opportunities that will exist this fall for female triathletes between the ages of sixteen and twenty-two. This fall there will be two Women’s Elite Draft Legal race opportunities that will promote the same format of racing as NCAA Women’s Triathlon programs.
The first opportunity will take place Sunday, September 13th, 2014 at the iconic Triathlon at Pacific Grove located in Pacific Grove, California. This will be a Women’s Draft Legal race, consisting of a .25 mile Swim, 12.4 mile Bike, and 2 mile Run. Registration is open until Friday, September 11th, 2014. Please register as an individual, and select “Collegiate Regional Qualifier” to ensure registration in the correct wave.

We are diligently working on securing an invitation only draft-legal Championship event that will take place November 2nd, 2014, with further details to be announced at a later date. While participation in these events will not automatically qualify you for this event, placement in these two events may be considered to fill any remaining spots in the Championship event. Invitation criteria for this event will also be announced at a later date. We thank you for your patience and understanding with this announcement delay.
Please note that neither of these race opportunities, as well as a Championship event in November, will count towards any Collegiate Club qualification system or ranking for Collegiate Club Nationals. These races are instead opportunities to provide athletes with further exposure to, as well as promote, elite level draft-legal racing for women who are potential collegiate triathletes as well as current collegiate triathletes.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at jess.luscinski@usatriathlon.org. I appreciate your time and I look forward to hopefully meeting you in California or New York!
All my best,
Jess Luscinski
NCAA and Collegiate Triathlon Coordinator"
